Joelle Hsu

Singaporean violist Joelle Hsu is currently pursuing her master’s degree at the Juilliard School, under tutelage of Hsin-Yun Huang. She has appeared as a soloist with the Baden-Baden Philharmonie, Singapore National Youth Orchestra and MacPherson Philharmonic Orchestra.

Throughout her career, Joelle has had the privilege to study closely with Nobuko Imai, Máté Szücs and Manchin Zhang. Recently, Joelle was a participant of the 2024 Carl Flesch Akademie and was awarded the PIRASTRO Award for her outstanding performance.

While travelling to share her love of the viola, Joelle enjoys hunting for new cafes, as well sharing with new friends and colleagues about her culture and food from back home!
